Summary

Let’s do a community painting night! Since there’s been interest in a social hobby activity, and Emerald Tavern hosts “Painting with a Pint” events on the first and third Thursday of every month, let’s show our support for a local FLGS while improving our painting skill together.

Part 2 (In-person):

Join in-person at Emerald Tavern where we focus on detail work, glazing, paint consistency, panel lining, and other crucial artistic techniques for painting a miniature to a relatively high degree of detail. The idea is to learn well-known and not-so-frequently mentioned tips you can use to paint a miniature to high tabletop / low competition standards.

This event will be at Painting with a Pint on Thursday, July 18 at Emerald Tavern. Be sure to get your tickets at Emerald Tavern before they sell out. There is a maximum of 25 seats, so act fast!

Participate to the level of your comfort! If you didn’t join the optional virtual community painting night, or just want to come and hang out, that’s perfectly fine. We’ll be focusing on doing detail work like glazing, edge highlights, and taking a standard tabletop miniature paint job to the next level.

We will aim to get your miniature detailed like panels 5 and 6 of Yasbir below. You’ll pick a subset of elements (belts, clothes, armor plates), focus on them, then repeat that process for the remainder of those same elements.

The overall process will follow this progression of Husam Yasbir:
