North Texas Infinity N5 Kick Off!
Kick off our local competitive scene in N5!
Howdy all, at New World Gaming in Little Elm, Texas on March 8th we’re doing a short 3 rounder tournament to kick off our local competitive scene in N5!
Tournament starts at 10:30, if you can bring a table of terrain please show up at 10:00 to help set up! (I’m going to try to find a way to reward you guys who always turn out to help :> )
Entry fee will be 15 dollars, payable to the store. Prizes will be store credit- first place will win some, and then the other two main prizes will be raffled off randomly to players. We’ll likely have a handful of other smaller prizes as well, which will be distributed via lottery as usual.
2 hours and 30 minutes probably per game to keep it rolling. 15 minutes per player for deployment and 1 hour each for turns roughly If your usual game takes longer than that, start putting on a timer on turns and see how long your turn takes. Aim for 20 minutes or less. Make quick decisions and think less, making mistakes and losing is better for learning than being stuck in analyzing a turn for several hours! Expect first turn to take longer, and third turn to be faster. But please focus on playing fast, you’ll learn faster and not hold up the event. I can provide at least one chess clock if people want one, but I recommend keeping your opponent accountable to keep the game moving.
Missions are supplies, decapitation, and supremacy.
This is a “casual” tournament, but it is still a tournament! Bring your best list and expect your opponents to do the same. If anyone needs help with practice or list building feel free to reach out in our local discord, we have lots of friendly players who will kindly assist you.
